Its more the length of tenure, not the age of the person. So if Candidate X started at 18 and was 58 I would want him to retire as well. Although, of course clout comes with tenure, so perhaps for California she should not retire.

I agree that people should not be put out to pasture at 70 & I do not think that we should just put 20 year olds on the ballot. I still think that 70 is not a bad age to take more of a counselor position in the party and bring the next generation up, I am talking about 40-50 year olds not 25 year olds.

By that metric, Bernie Sanders would be booted from office as someone “too old to get 18-25 year olds excited.”

Honestly, while age is an issue it's more that Feinstein is substantially less liberal than her constituents at this point.
