I’m not understanding the joke here. Is it that FONV’s Batman is stiltedly, laughably bad?

Hah, no, I explained poorly. “Top of the line” is my joke. It’s a complete shitbox with outdated everything, it was outdated in 2009 when the tech department built it for me. That said, I pulled up the specs (computer chugging along because opening explorer means reallocating memory from the browser window, augh!…
Thank you for posting this. I caught flak for playing GoW with my 8-year-old SON. You are an awesome dad with awesome girls. Bonding is bonding. Kiddie stuff is fine, of course, if everyone is also bonding over that. The point is shared interests, not one half of the family doing something the other half can’t…
Yowza! That beast is a whopping 500 MHz and 2GB RAM faster than my work computer. They keep upgrading my operating system and giving me new copies of Photoshop that get more bloated. Since switching to Chrome, also their idea, my computer is a slug. I can’t do anything. I flat-out crash if I open a 1080p video file.…
Oh man, I bought a guide that cost more than the game itself to get the gold chocobo.
Me too. It’s distinctive. Every time I play DXHR again I get a familiar warm fuzzy feeling doing the hacks. Same goes for Bioshock’s hacking (actually less distinctive, but somehow charming with the sound effects and things). I also play with a controller, always, and it’s extremely intuitive and comfortable.
Agreed, I’m constantly impressed by the design in HR. Everything looks right. Logos and things are fantastic. It’s just “enough” in the future, that whole 80% familiar 20% new ratio that’s getting play again over on io9 re: Back to the Future’s greatness. Mankind Divided may fall victim to overdesign or “gamey” design…
I’m not usually one to go into full-on “get hype” mode, but holy god
^^; Hah! Just my heretic “edit everything!” eagerness finding its way into the comment. It’s a great shot, better than I’ve ever gotten with windows, and reflects (no pun intended) the real world as-is which is of course the best bragging right for photographers, whatever camp they’re in re: post-processing and all…
Very nice! I know this building well, it’s a great photo op but hard to get a satisfying shot. You should flip this though, it’s framed just right and I don’t think it would be considered too dishonest to re-mirror a mirror shot on Akiba’s world famous main street.
Blink, BLINK, you soulless husk!
No kidding. Out of a blurb that’s two sentences long, he couldn’t even scan it for the massive DLNA acronym in parentheses?
The announcement is nice but agreed, it’s been a long road to get here, and it’s strewn with the bodies of fans who accepted invitation after invitation to run ahead of the bus, paving the way with dollars to ensure a smooth ride for investors inside. That strategy has been insultingly transparent for a while. The…
You hype like I assign S.P.E.C.I.A.L.! :)
What the fuck?
... so my dad bought me The Marshall Mathers LP when I was 9 years old, not knowing what was on it. I learned every word of it, back to front, by the time I was 10.
Effusive hyperbole is one hundred billion times worse than the holocaust.
Ha! Literally lived across from Animate for 3 years in Higashi Ikebukuro. ;) Helped me get my job in the industry, since by proximity alone I was afforded otaku cred. (Also an actual otaku: bounced between Mitaka for the museum, Nakano for the Broadway shopping orgy and currently Akihabara — weirdly, my wife picked…
I feel like Akihabara has been pretty gentrified. The joke endures that it’s one big nerd-perv stripmall but it’s possibly more generic electronic shops now than ever. You’ve got ten massive stores owned mostly by two companies on the main street and little sister shops populating the back “alleys” that once had much…
I also find peculiar her phrasing that people could review her under-five-minute game if they replayed it, but “nobody wants to”.
