Æthelflæd- (Ethel-fled) real person, too. I`m kind of wondering when she`s going to show up on the show. She is probably the most important female character in the books.

I've always had the sense that's how science and medicine work in general. Ideas are floating around and everyone is reading the same papers and research, and people draw new advances from that.

the makeup artists deserve every award for making him look as terrible as they do. It's amazing, really.

I think doing all those things for Thack and then him dumping her has brought on this religious revival for her.

When I realized Cornwall also wrote the Sharpe books (made into that long running series staring Sean Bean), that pattern was very evident. Except it's Napoleon rather than Vikings.

I consider it progress that they have Scandinavian actors playing Danes.

Cornwell writes very quick, very simple stories but the sum of it is quite enjoyable. He's also amazingly prolific. I didn't know he also wrote the "Sharpe" books. My point is they aren't going to out pace the novels like Game of Thrones.

The Danes are all "Yeah, we have to kill him anyway, we might as well have fun with it…"

My favourite part, minus the "your ass is cleverer…." bit was her coming up with the big plan while they are humping. She's all "Stop!" and he gets concerned. This is very funny show.

I love how they keep referring to baptism as a "wash"….with the whole "cleansed of your sins." The Danes are like "Wait….what?"

Dreymon is also insanely attractive. That is a pretty man.

I think she's a Martha Stewart/ Paula Deen hybrid.

Yeah, he is a shithead. And if he has such issues with Wildlings, why doesn't he go kill Tormund, the guy who was the leader of that little band of them that actually killed his parents? Stupid annoying kid.

They are likely going to send Davos on his Rickon search- Sansa might send him. Maybe they all go together to the Umbers. Or something.

I know in the book, they have Asha/Yara and a few of her men prisoner (I think it's in her POV chapter.) And Stannis has a few men burned because they are eating dead people. And crying that they were hungry as they burned. It's gone full Donner party and no kid has been burned yet.

Arriane isn't flirty?

Troy pisses me off because it made me think that they just should've taken Sean Bean's Odysseus and their budget, sent him on a long journey home and filmed that. Especially in the scene where he's just sitting around thinking about big horses.

Def. Selyse and Shireen are at Castle Black with Melisandre in the book. I could totally see Selyse (who is more of a zealot) ordering the burning of Shireen. Especially if she believes the contents of the so-called Pink Letter that Stannis is dead (or at least in bad shape.)
