I think a lot of the abusers who demand NDAs count of the fact that their victims won’t know how legally enforceable they are, and will be too upset/powerless to consult a decent lawyer and get it checked before they sign it.
You do seem to see the incredible lengths he went to abuse women, in that if he couldn’t assault them or ruin their careers, even AFTER they avoided him and quit, he was busy trying to make them feel worthless. He seems to be a person constantly looking not just to harm but to obliterate others.
First, you are right - an agreement not to seek medical care (which is how I’d frame this if I were challenging it), would likely not be enforceable as void against public policy in the US (and probably elsewhere, I imagine).
Presumably it’s because discussing a patient’s details is a violation of the patient and would require Perkins to file a complaint against the therapist... which she could decide not to do.
