IDK, this is a very conservative parish that just happens to have a fairly tolerant priest, but the one before totally would have called her out on that. Right now she’s happy but I wonder if she’ll stay that way because he announced he may be leaving in May. And the priest from a neighboring parish advocated for porn

She went full Church Lady, huh. That happened to an aunt of mine. Drives me nuts. I wish I could tell her that I understand wanting to find structure in your life, but stop preaching and judging people who are fine with their own lives that are not your own. However she unfriended me and barely acknowledges me at

I was raised in different churches growing up and my dad was a lapsed catholic so I developed an aversion to organized religion. I also researched the Catholic Church in particular because my Dad’s family was hardcore Catholic. I did not like what I found and then the abuse and cover up just solidified it. I’m hopeful

Their devil-worshiping leaders have had about 1950 years to learn how to exploit people. These are people who actually tried to sell plots in heaven to the populace. You seriously can’t get any more evil than that.

I’ve worked on a comedian college event. Our PR dept always gave them a list of topics to avoid. At least two read the list on stage and made jokes about - they didn’t cut the mics, but they also probably won’t be invited back any time in the near future. And in my mind that is the best way to deal with it. Cutting

You guys, my sister has just become a full-fledged card-carrying member of the Catholic Church and I have very mixed feelings about it. She was a notorious party-girl type and lived quite a full life and has the emotional and mental scars to prove it. She’s always been a bit of a lost soul who tried on personalities

Ugh. Catholics. Why do all of us who were raised as regular Catholics get to carry around crippling guilt for the rest of our lives while our “leadership” gets to act with impunity?

I’m reminded of the time when Billy Joel played at Notre Dame college, and they warned him not to play “Only the Good Die Young,” which caused him to play it five times in his set.

The Catholic Church was asking for it when they invited Buress to perform. It’s the church’s fault, and they need to repent for what they’ve done and then they need to be quiet about it because no one will believe them anyway.

While I generally agree with this, I think it’s strange to invite someone who is best known for calling Cosby out and then be surprised that he’s mention the Church’s history of sexual predation. Yes, it’s their stage and they can make the rules, but I also think it’s up to the host to think through what they want out

They invited a comedian best known by the general public for making jokes in a set about a then well-respected man’s long history as a serial predator, and then expected him to not say anything about the church’s own abuse scandals? C’mon Loyola.

I haven’t blamed the school. I get that British public schools had their own culture back in the day. They thought their mission was to toughen up little white boys to make them fit to hold the reigns of Empire. It was what it was.

LOVE your user name!

It’s not remotely the school’s fault that Charles couldn’t make friends. They didn’t ask him to be bullied they treated him like everyone else, which is good.

The Queen offered to confer the titles on them honorarily and she declined.

Anne’s kids couldn’t be a prince and princess whether she wanted them to or not. These titles aren’t handled down through the female line, if their mother isn’t the heir apparent.

And she wouldn’t let her kids be prince and princess! Which is awesome.

I’ve always felt she’s been hanging in there for exactly that reason

The Fish in The Cat in the Hat should be at the top of this list. I know, in the cartoon it is voiced by a guy but the book does not assign that fish a gender and I would argue it is the ultimate Lame Bitch.

We are set up to hate the fish, when all it does is point out that we don’t know that cat and he should not be

Sally Field in Mrs Doubtfire.
