Ugh, this fucking guy. I hate his books, I hate the image he presents of himself, and when I got a chance to meet him in person, all my preconceived notions were spot-on. He's a weapons-grade douchebag.

That's the problem. It's rarely about learning the job and more about doing the tasks others don't want to do— for free— to lower labor costs for the company. And in this country it's illegal for an unpaid intern to be expected to do ANY work that is more of an advantage to the company than the intern him/herself.

Oh I am so glad this is happening because I feel like the intern culture is terrible for the economy. A lot of places I've worked have replaced the typical entry level positions with internships, most of them unpaid. Not only does this put the entry level workers out of a job, it makes it that much harder for people…
