What you are experiencing is actually pretty typical for people suffering from chronic pain. I have vulvodynia, a poorly understood condition that basically means my vagina, clitoris, and vulva hurt very badly all of the time. Most obgyns aren’t familiar with the condition, and I had to see several doctors before

If you feel comfortable without opiates, you don’t need opiates. I think this is a fair assessment we would both agree on. I am perfectly aware that opiates are over-prescribed in the US, but people in pain should not be blamed. The problem is much, much more complicated than that.

I’m with you. Most of the people on here have no idea what it’s like to have awful, unbearable pain that never goes away. If prescription opiates stop being an option, people like us are screwed. And that’s terrifying.

Some people have pain that is worse than yours. The ability to function, work, and live without opiate pain killers is reflective of your personal levels of pain. It says nothing about what is “sufficient for most pain”.

This. Everyone experiences pain differently, and we really need to stop shaming people who need pain management. Opiates are effective, and the vast majority of adults can take them responsibly, as prescribed, and never experience addiction. Should there be a better alternative for treating severe, acute pain?

This needs a million stars.

Holy shit I love this. Thank you

After Mean Girls, I was SUPER into Lindsay Lohan. Then I watched Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, which very efficiently killed that celebrity crush.

I’ve watched every single Twilight movie PLUS Snow White and the Huntsman for Kristen Stewart. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

God, I forgot how much I despise the business model for academic journals. Apparently Science now makes its articles available to the general public a year after the publication date, so that’s good I guess?

Large systemic changes will eventually affect all of us on a personal level. If small inconveniences are enough to discourage people from pursuing those changes, we have a problem. You may have already read this, but I’m linking it it anyway. Link: http://science.sciencemag.org/content/355/6331/1269.full. I think

I’m a high school teacher (in a wealthy area), and I teach this environmental science doomsday stuff for a living. I’ve found that students of all political backgrounds, both liberal and conservative, care about the environment. They just have no desire to do what it takes to ensure it remains habitable for humans.

Ah. Pho chay (vegetarian pho) is pretty common in western restaurants, so I figured that was what you meant. And agree to disagree about pho broth. It can be made with chicken, beef, or whatever is available. During hard times, people used plain water. I don’t see any problem with using vegetable broth if it tastes

Your example also specified people who complain about available vegan options (your example was a vegan pho option). I just don’t see the problem with a vegan complaining about bad vegan pho, especially if its on the menu.

I don’t think that’s really fair. People with special diets (vegan/vegetarian/kosher/gluten-free/food allergies etc) often go out of their way to eat at restaurants that specifically provide options they can eat. If those options are bad, they are allowed to express dissatisfaction. Especially if said restaurant

While I am uncomfortable about feeling any sympathy for a professional troll and newly minted child sexual abuse advocate, what he says in his statement above reminds me of friends I had as a young teenager who lost their virginities way young, under questionable circumstances.

She was such a promising character, so it’s a shame that she ended up being so awful.

I shipped Minky (Mini and Franky) so hard initially. How did Mini/Alo even happen? It’s a question that plagues my life.

This is precisely how I felt when Mini became magically straight and Franky became Effy 2.0 (but a million times more immature and unlikable).

I think I know exactly what surgery you are referencing. I’m so glad it worked for you! The equivalent for me would essentially require the removal of my clitoris, so I’m not sure I’m ready for that. I’m still in denial and hope I’ll get to use it again at some point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. IC terrifies me. I’m super convinced
