In most states, “attempted manslaughter” isn’t a thing, because those are crimes defined by some sort of recklessness or negligence.

You’d think so, but somehow Draymond Green manages to continue at his current pace

I think the point isn’t even so much about the violation she was given for complaining and calling him a thief. LeBron and other NBA plays bitch all of the time about calls, and sometimes get techs for it. LeBron got ejected from a game this year for comments to a ref. KD got ejected like 6 times.

Rules for all replay: the ref/umpire has 30 seconds in consultation with the league office to decide if there is sufficient video evidence to overturn the call on the field. If you can’t make that decision within 30 seconds, the call stands.

I mean, whatever the coach was doing was most certainly not a “thumbs up”, and I think everybody can agree on that.

It’s always possible they still are just hoping that Thomas eventually re-signs with them for a figure they are okay with, hence the reluctance to trade. If he slips a bit this year it might work out for Seattle. Mack was going to get a monster deal no matter what.

(A) The article specifically says that Dallas offered a second round pick, but Seattle wasn’t interested in that. (B) It sucks for Thomas, but there just aren’t going to be that many teams lining up to sign a safety to a big deal beginning in his age 30 season. It’s just not a smart use of money for a contending team.

Especially in 2016

This seems oddly specific and can in no way be logically extrapolated from the story.

Chick Fil A is still relatively cheap, though. At its price point, Shake Shack is so much worse.

Black coffee means plain coffee with nothing in it, but perfectly fine to ask for black coffee and add your own sugar, etc. since you know how you like it. You were both jerks.

This was a screengrab from TV, not taking a surreptitious picture of somebody and then posting it.

He has exceeded all expectations as a hitter, but with only 261 PAs/232 ABs, mostly against righties (seriously, his numbers against lefties are horrible), he just hasn’t be able to whip up much excitement because he plays comparatively rarely.

Sorry, this is weird and gross and I can’t believe of all the things the GMG dumps on, this isn’t one of them.

Ding ding. It also includes a mutual release of claims so they’re basically preventing him from suing the school in the future for any number of things. I assure you it isn’t done as a gesture of goodwill to the employee.

Not just Sale, but Bauer as well, plus then Cole and Verlander too. I wouldn’t quibble with Severino or Kluber either, but that’s more of a toss-up.

He put mats under the plates specifically to minimize the noise made. Not sure what the issue is.

Yeah I mean it’s true. It’s not even that bad from a business perspective -- quesadillas aren’t on the menu but people still order them and Chipotle obliges, even though it ties up the griddle for warming the burritos for other folks for several minutes.

Betts is having an insane year but when you have two other guys like Trout and Ramirez, missing three weeks of games put him firmly behind the other two.

Nope but you’re equally wrong
