As a volunteer at my local track, let me ask “what the hell are these dudes doing?”
Why cant the NHTSA just rank cars in each category or test. We know % of cabin space used, or g-forces experience, and crap like that. Its not about which car is the safest, just which car had the best values for each test.
It’s hard to watch because those guys unbearable douchebags, or at least they play them on TV.
Right now, China is in
pollposition.
Also, if you have your own helmet, you’ll know if it’s been dropped or not.
That dead pixel in the interview footage is distracting AF. Had to shut the video off and check on other screens to make sure it wasn’t my monitor.

Legally, they were in the right. They’re still an asshole. I can’t say I feel much sympathy for their plight.
The sedan shouldn’t of been going so slow.
You can theoretically make a car much, much faster (and less safe) when you don’t need a human driver. Really, AI controlled cars make a lot of theoretical sense for F1. If you’re trying to build the fastest race car possible, removing the driver is a big benefit.
