I dream of a day when this will look stupid because the interstate highway system is so good that everyone in a decent car drives that fast all the time. But we should probably start with having the roads not fall apart just from looking at them.

You don’t even have to speed to get places faster than before. I made record time driving across TX to pick up my son after his extended spring break just because I never had to show down for traffic. Least gas burned ever, too.
Carnival was sketchy and giving cruises a bad name for years before this.
Maybe it’s way easier to build models of a giant wedge than of something that has curves?
Disconnecting the battery or putting it on a tender is the best bet. I have a couple cars that only get driven once or twice a month and drive them for an hour isn’t enough to recharge fully.
I wish somebody could sue John Hennessey out of existence before he steals again.
Approximately zero crowd compared to MotoGP. Also, MotoGP has a big Italian contingent, and if travel restrictions are still in place for them at the end of this month we’re still screwed.
Really puts the I in hIdeous :(
If they want road relevance, they should make the pit crews use whatever jack and lug wrench comes with the street version of the car.
Compared to the cost of running most gt car series that isn’t that bad. But compared to sticking a pin in your eyeball, sticking one in your hand isn’t bad, either
COTA needs superchargers
Almost as annoying as the torque steer. How do people stand driving FWD?
If there’s justice in the world that money will go to giving Hinchcliffe a full season ride with Andretti. That would make my day.
Whenever I’m in the Caribbean or even Hawaii, I meet a lot of people that are working for low pay just to live there, and it’s pretty damn expensive to get back to the mainland once you’re there. Apples and oranges to living in space but hopefully closer to the cheap mars experience than 18th century living.
Too bad Tony Stark is dead. I hear he came up with a replacement.
Problem is you still have most of the mechanical drag of the alternator all the time. Get rid of it and use a starter/generator and you’ve done something notable. Adding the capacitor to the bmw solution is interesting in that a capacitor can charge much more efficiently than a battery. If they want to reduce weight…
Thanks for spoiling something that won’t air in the US for another day yet. I guess I’ll stop reading Jalopnik until the rally is over in two weeks. Or maybe you don’t need to put the results in the headline?
Demolition Man should be required viewing in high school.
Grills should be as big as they need to be to flow air and no bigger. If that giant opening is going to feed brake and engine cooling or some cool aero magic, that’s fine with me, but what would be bold is a car that has no BS useless “features”
So... we’re going to use one fossil fuel to generate a lot of hydrogen, use another fossil fuel to carry it across an ocean made of mostly hydrogen, and then burn it to make “clean” energy instead of just using solar power to make hydrogen from water, which is everywhere.
