Now this is an excellent point. Once you put a roof on a speeder you greatly limit pilot size. You cut be cutting out a massive portion of the galactic population by having headroom that can’t accommodate something 8 feet tall (or taller).

You should check out that blog, he’s been working on a years-long narrative project on the history of adventure gaming from the very beginning, going in chronological order. He’s up to the early 90s.
That whole series is extremely good, I particularly liked The Future Was Here by the guy who runs the filfre.net blog, about the Amiga.
