I hacked up the doors and rear deck in my beat up old 1967 Volvo 122S to install a $50 Aiwa radio and 4 x 5-1/4 speaker set. $50 dollars did not get you a very good radio or quality speakers in the late 1980s. It was not a good return on investment for the number of tin snip induced hand cramps and jagged torn

Just wanted to let you know that that 56 page build thread has been my bedtime story for the last couple of nights. OUTSTANDING work. I love it.

That is awesome.

Is that an Australian Boss 290 intake on top of a 32V 5.4?

Volvo has always made great seats. They strike the perfect balance of comfort and support along with higher than average quality materials.

I think he did.

I was thinking it looks very R2D2-ish.

Sure there are some minor differences but for all practical purposes they were the same, especially in the interior and in the controls (which is the most annoying thing about hopping in a different car) and in practice I didn’t notice much difference between the old 3.5L and the new 3.6L or even notice the 2 extra

We ended up with one of those as a rental last year. It was a very weird experience because we have a 2007 Impala and we go to pick up our rental and it’s the exact same car except 9 years younger. Besides the years and miles, it was practically identical.

I think that’s the problem though - they feel the rearend start to slide out, panic and lift which leads to... lift-throttle oversteer.

I like it. Looks sharp.

How did they manage to even turn that little wiggle into an all out spin like that? That is an impressive lack of skill and control.

Yeah, I had some part store rental spring compressors pop off once while I was doing some struts. Luckily they just rattlet around the wheel well but that was the end of that - I took ‘em straight to a shop and paid them to swap the springs over. I don’t mess with them anymore.

When he starts reaching for that spring and it looks like a coil is still binding, waiting to, uh, spring loose. Gave me the Heebie-jeebies.

All I know is I need some Turbine/Hurricane/Cyclone wheels like those in a 16/17/18” wheel with more modern backspacing.

I can only imagine what an A/C compressor would do to a Beetle. Would it have negative HP when you turned on the A/C?

I got to witness a train crossing accident just last week. Not a stalled/stopped vehicle but still could've been avoided with common sense. A bunch of maintenance equipment was rolling through and the gates kept going up and down and a few cars would go through each time they went up. The lady in front of me got to be

That's the only thing that makes sense. There just aren't enough stick shifts left for people to be stalling them on tracks in any kind of numbers and just about any other car still on the road today is going to be fuel injected and it's very unlikely for them to stall unexpectedly on you, even if it's 25 years old

An honest truck is whatever a truck was, like, 20 years ago from when you're making that statement.

Yep, it smells like self-assured, self-reliant confidence to my wife.
