That is fantastic.
That is fantastic.
Good to know the coupe will live on under a new name but it seems like a pretty questionable idea on BMWs part to screw around with a naming convention that's worked pretty well for the last 30+ years, especially for, again, an iconic car that has a couple of decades of legacy built up.
Thank you for clarifying.
I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek but why do you think people bemoaning the loss of an iconic high-performance sports coupe are morons?
Don't drive like an asshole in the rain. It's as simple as that.
Rather than continue to compete head to head with Mustang GT & Boss 302 and be embarrassed the cheaper, solid-axle, domestic competition, BMW has chosen to vacate the 2 door sports coupe market and leave it to the ponycars and focus on the 4 door segment where the Big 3 don't have a viable competitor (at least until…
Well, since they're worthless for racing now, I'll take one off your hands for scrap value plus a couple hundred bucks for your trouble - that's sounds fair right?
3400 lbs?
FWD, RWD, whatever. What's really bizarre about the 1-Series story is that the BMW is going to be cheaper than the Mini. The Mini, its namesake an affordable car for the masses while BMW has always traded (at least here in the States) on a certain exclusivity of superior machinery for a premium price. Marketing has…
Well, at least they didn't ruin yet another '67~'68 Mustang to create yet another Eleanor, so... well done!
Shoving into overdrive in the Hot Rod Lincoln probably made sense. Those 4.11s are pretty short gears and a flathead lincoln isn't a high revver so he probably needed that overdrive to keep it in the powerband and get to top speed. It was probably an external overdrive unit and pre electrically operated so it would…
The idea has some potential but proper execution would take a lot more work. The overall length is about right but the back wheels need to be moved much closer to the bumper with the rear window and c-pillar also moved backwards, stretching the canopy and shrinking the trunk. The doors should be closer to normal coupe…
The valley of my 2V 4.6L would be perfect for slow cooking some ribs. That might solve the lack of cooking facilities problem at work when we have our "tailgate party*" lunches in the fall - let them slow roast all morning on the motor and then throw them on a charcoal grille to finish them off. I bet that big iron…
Thank you!
Looks like the 4r100 is descended from the C6 and the Panthers have FMX/AOD descended 4r70's - the 4r100 appears to be about 300 lbs and the 4r70 around 150.
The V10 is probably about 100 pounds heavier than the stock iron block 2V 4.6L. That truck transmission is probably a good bit heavier too.
I agree - this car is misunderstood. Mileage isn't the point - maneuverability and parkability is. It is smart if you live in lots of places in Europe.
Yeah, the 959 is kinda the high point of 1980's technology married to the low point of 1980's tackiness.
As a kid, getting the Technics car kit with the big wheels and rubber tires and all those lovely gears and a real, working differential... that was one of the best moments of my short life.
