I could live with it if it was a LS(X) swap and it was all kept out of sight under the hood and I could still pretend it had proper Porsche motivation under there but a 6-71 blower poking through the hood is just plain tacky, as are the ricer gauge pods.

There were folks who were born when the Beetle was new, grew up, got married, had children, had grandchildren and still didn't live long enough to see them go out of production.

Too drunk to drive but not too drunk to legislate.

Pretty much the same place everybody puts their transverse FWD engines.

I'll take the 700 series next to it.

Esther Island. A tragic environmental story. After the practice of raising giant statues of Aunt Esther around the island depleted all the natural resources, the native inhabitants slowly starved to death, their numbers dwindling until only a the handful that could still be supported by the island remained.

I've been waiting almost 8 years for this moment...

You know that commercial where everything is powered by gas? Blenders, TVs, cellphones, etc. Everytime I see that, I think, "hell yeah! That'd be awesome! My phone would run for weeks!" Of course not with two-stroke engines stinking everything up like in the ad, but with some sort of fuel cell or mini-turbine or

At $40K, these just make no sense for the average consumer. It's for early adopters and people making a statement - GM made a mistake thinking there was a real market for it. Sadly, the Volt will probably go down in history like so many of GM's forward thinking projects that were undermined by either being to far

Sorry just realized I replied to a really old post. That's what I get for following a link before lunch and then coming back and reading comments afterwards.

Impact wrenches don't work like drills - a 2200 lbs-ft drill would rip your arms off. A 200 lbs-ft drill would rip your arm off if the bit got stuck or you tried to use it as a wrench. The rating of a torque wrench is more of an equivalency as in a 200 lbs-ft torque wrench should be capable of loosening a nut torqued
