I tried that - it doesn't work. But it does make a lot of grinding and scraping noises and make your brakes feel reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy weird.

I'm a somewhat Porsche purists - not a hardcore 911/356 and nothing else purist, but a sports car or nothing else purist. However... if I has a lot of disposable cash and a need for an SUV or a four door saloon, I'd take a Cayanne or Panamera in a heartbeat because they are just simply awesome.
It's older than that - it started with the 4th Gen F-bodies in '93 and maybe even earlier for Corvettes.
Sing it Jimi
I just remembered something cool about the diesel Dasher wagon we had when I was a kid - it had the Wolfsburg Castle embossed in the steering wheel. I think our Bug had it to, except it was painted on the steering wheel hub. My Fox didn't, I guess because it was from Brazil.
I love these things. There was one around here that sat more or less abandoned and neglected in front of a boarded up gas station for years - I kick myself for being young and broke all those years and for having not tried to acquire it. It would have at least made a spectacular ornament for my front yard.
I'll trade it for a T-56.
I like the Ford GT disclaimer:
I call the motor and trans.
I did too but I though it had too much Jenson Interceptor in the back.
And once again, the GT40 beats Ferrari.
It doesn't take much in the way of a tree to mess you up - trees don't play.
I think the Challenger is the nail in the retro movement. I was standing next to an SRT-8 at the gas station the other day and the presence of that car is amazing. It just exudes 1970. There's no where else to go with retro copies of classic musclecars now.
That is most excellent.
I understand the appeal of touch screens and the iPad in particular - Apple's IOS is simply the best computer interface ever since the joystick. The problem with using touchscreens as a control interface in a car is that, while they look futuristic and sexy and give you tremendous flexibility, you have to look at them…
Seriously. Is this even up for debate?
I just saw this on cable over the weekend and noticed the car again - perfect casting.
I wanted to be Stringfellow Hawke so bad when I was in the 5th grade - I would squint like him all the time. Only years later did I realize that he squinted because he was strung out on drugs, not because he was just that bad-ass.
