3rd gear: I can’t speak for all, but the reason that this conservative doesn’t want to live in one of the aforementioned walkable cities is not necessarily because they’re walkable or I want to have to get in my car to go anywhere. I don’t want to live in any of the densely populated and very walkable cities because…
Neutral: My van got totaled out a couple of weeks ago. Despite my disdain car payments and debt, I have to replace the van on a temporary basis until my F-150 Lightning arrives. I turned to the internet and found a sweet deal on taking over someone else’s Honda Odyssey lease, of all things, which has 18 months and a…
Omaha. And I meant lvl 3 paint correction but fat fingered it. IDK if such a thing a lvl 4 exists.
How about the pricing for that Armor All paint protection? My detail guy here in town does a complete exterior detail, level 4 paint correction, and ceramic coating for that $1200.
I’m gonna go YOLO on naked calls.
JK, I like having a wife and a house.
If my kids are in the car, I stick to the speed limit or maybe 5 over. If I’m alone in the car on the interstate, I’m at 14 over.
Kinja seems to be kinja today and I think my comment disappeared.
It’s definitely Tucker!
But if you take Bob Lutz at his word, especially as written in Car Guys vs. Bean Counters, then GM is the unluckiest company in the history of the automobile.
Tucker. [edit] but if you take Bob Lutz at his word, especially as written in Car Guys vs. Bean Counters, then poor GM is the unluckiest bunch of bastards in the history of the automobile.
I don’t have any memories from the 80's as I was born in the latter part of the decade but as far as I can tell from books, movies, and stories the 1980's were the wild West.
that’s a rough one! IL staties are a mixed bag in my experience. I’ve driven past them at 15-20 over the limit and gotten as little as a quick flash of the light bar. I’ve also been pulled over and ticketed for doing 74 in a 70 between Chicago and Kankakee.
Everyone post your best speeding ticket!
I got pulled over doing 91 in a 65. In Nebraska, 26 over gets you a willful reckless or some such charge. The Statie was cool though and wrote me up for 87. He also took a dip of my Skoal Cherry (give me a break, it was the late 2000's and I was experimenting).
Why does everyone think that there’s an ADM on every decent car? DO you all live in places where paying over MSRP actually happens?
Remember your disdain for cops next time someone is committing a crime against you. That way you can avoid doing something silly, like call them to help you.
All that hood and no frunk? WTF(runk)!
Good looking vehicle, if such a thing can be said about an SUV... but I wouldn’t want to own one. The incredibly unnecessary LED lights in the space where the grill would be will look like crap when they break.
Yessir! One thing to note about the Ecoboost engines though, they are very sensitive to driving style. A 2.7 driven like an asshole is very capable of consuming as much fuel as the old 5.4. Drive it normal (not babying it) and you’ll get 19.
“Take your facts and figures and GTFO!” :)
So the price increases have outpaced inflation, but the trucks are so much better now than they were in 2011. And that’s saying something because pickups, specifically F-150s, weren’t exactly penalty boxes in 2011. The one caveat is that the base engine in a 2011 XLT was a…
Interesting about the mileage at altitude, and yes that 3.7 was a great motor. Now the base motor is that gutless 3.3, which is without a doubt the worst motor in any half-ton pickup on the road.
I feel seen
Underrated by Jalops but not the market, the Ford F-150.
In the year of our Lord 2015-Present, one can purchase an aluminum bodied, RWD three seater with a 5.0 liter N/A V8 that is good for 385-400 horsepower.
You also get the option of a 2.7L TT V6 with gobs of torque and owners routinely see 18-20 MPG in town. We got…
