To be entirely fair, the company is right. A governor who was elected 65 years after an easement was granted, can’t just revoke the easement by fiat. It’s not even her easement to revoke. The law defines the process and the Governor’s attempt to rule by fiat defies that process.

I’ll put it another way: It’s the biggest slice of the US sales pie for Volkswagen, which is a very small pie.

Are you referencing global sales when you say the Tiguan sells great?

Confirmed: Honda sells more CRV’s in the US in a year than VW sells of their entire model line in the US. And Toyota sells even more Rav4's. Hell, even the Escape outsells the Tiguan by a wide margin. I guess they don’t “get” the US market that fine.

300 came from my experience driving like a 2012 X3 with the turbo I6. It had 300 HP and the power felt absolutely perfect for that application.

All is well here in flyover country. Plenty of juice, low unemployment, Spring has sprung, covid numbers low and trending down.

With a username like “turbineguy” I hope that you would think it needs ~900.

I think this BMW owner just wanted to point out that he owns a BMW. Standard procedure :)

I don’t have time to check the numbers right now, but I bet that Toyota sells more Rav4's per year in the US than Volkswagen’s entire model line.
If the only polls that matter are results, and people vote with their wallets, the Tiguan truly is winner of the losers.

Fair enough. Many but not all of the reasons I don’t like the Tiguan are subjective. It may not be a particularly bad crossover, but there are far better options for the money.

Per the article the Tiguan is Volkswagen’s best selling vehicle. Being a winner amongst losers doesn’t count for much, and a compact crossover being any given brand’s best selling vehicle is kind of the expectation at this point in time.

VW just doesn’t “get it” unless we’re talking about the GTI. The Japanese marques make vastly superior products in this space. And the Atlas, which I actually think is handsome if a bit bland, is outshined in every way by nearly all of its competition. This is strange to type because other VAG brands use the same

300 is the correct number of horsepower for something with a footprint and weight the size of the Tiguan.

Aero is a funny thing. F150 4x4 owners with the 2.7 enjoy better fuel economy compared to Bronco. But when you saddle the engine with worse aero, it gets worse economy despite Bronco being much smaller and weighing hundreds of pounds less.

The price is fine for a Boxster in this shape and mileage but I want it on the record that the vast majority of those Ruf mods are pointless and I specifically would not buy this car because of its body kit and my suspicion that “computer chip horsepower upgrade” is vaporware.

Yes, a van has more cubic feet of space for stuff, and has a much lower load floor. Unfortunately, there’s always the creepy image and if looks didn’t matter to everybody on this website, our vehicular choices would be different. Additionally, pickups have a better seating position, are easier to work on, have better

Wow. ND at half the price! Thinking of the pollution this bus creates makes me cringe.

Bed toppers on pickups. I know... by putting a topper on the bed, you just make a van with a higher load floor. Whatever. I like the way pickups look with a topper. Especially regular cab, 2WD versions of boxy 1990's Ford pickups. My grandpa had a long bed, regular cab F-150 Eddie Bauer 2wd with Green over Tan paint

Interesting piece. I hope we see the technological advancements necessary to make it happen e.g. solid state batteries. To this point, the government’s plan has been to make EV’s more competitive by making gas engine cars more expensive and giving a non refundable tax credit to EV buyers.

One of the easiest No Dice votes ever. For $12,500 you can pick up a very clean (though much higher mileage) 2007-2009 ES350. Heck if you’re willing to go 2004, you can find a great GS300 for less money.
