@BAngieB: I keep wondering what's going on with this LA lesbian rich-girl set. There certainly seems to be a crew of women there who are stone messes (Lohan and Semel come to mind).

@hfree: I did. Interestingly, the feud with the aunt was over a man, as I recall. Her life didn't seem so dreadful then — I remember the beautiful house which now allegedly looks like something out of Grey Gardens. Wealth can indeed be a curse.

@LutherNipperkin: Ohhh. Now I get the Yeti reference. And it does in fact redeem the onesie.

@Highsmith: A Yeti vest would have MADE this outfit!

That's interesting. I gave everyone in my family books for Christmas (except my book-review-editor sister, coals to Newcastle and all that). They are at once personal, reasonably priced, and (in hard back) a bit luxurious as a gift.

Cake v. Pie?

This whole things just makes Demi Moore and her lawyers look unattractive — no photoshopping required!

@tervalicious: She is a total and complete ripoff of Uffie. There's no question at all. I won't listen to this packaged crap.

@OverratedUnderwhelmed: Have you seen the pictures of her with her kid? Like in this week's Us? There's no Balenciaga on the girl — Uggs are her usual "fashion" choice and she looks just like plenty of moms I know. This smacks of reverse snobbery to me, a bit.

@zu_zu: That is indeed true. The reason is that older people with heart problems have been living with them, and having their hearts work through them.

@PurpleDaisy: And for that honesty she has my admiration.

@twisted_martini: Please note what the main post was about — celebrities tweeting about this woman's death. That was what my reaction was to.

@mariamariamaria: Oh, I'm not saying she got a pass at all. I mean, in the saddest most obvious way she did not — she is dead. My point is that it sends really messed up signals to those of us who still are alive. I'm not sure if I'm able to express it better than Hollywoodization, but that is a close

@twisted_martini: Yes. I would. When did Twitter become the standard for expression?

@nora charles: There's also a disconnect in the way the gossip columns took such glee in her spiral down and the solemnity with which they and the tweeterati report her death.

@twisted_martini: As I mentioned, I thought Kathy Najimy did this well. My point is why "tweet" about someone's death like this at all?

@PaigeTurner: I think it the chances are vanishingly small that she did not. Note Kathy Najimy's well-crafted comment. We may not know to an absolute certainty, but if these people who claim to be her friends and are choosing to "tweet" about her death knew (and pretty much every story out there acknowledges at a

@Ulookinatmyjunk, JOC: But there *is* time to send out Twitters to millions of people you don't know.

@pmarble: Kathy Najimy actually does this balancing act pretty well in her tweet-thing.
