She responded that “find my phone” was disabled on her phone (unless she was assuming the 14 year old master criminal had already disabled it).  But the excellent point from above still could have worked -- call her phone.  The boy’s phone would not have rung, but the Uber driver likely would have picked up.  Occam’s

I think she was a former guest at the hotel, so they will be able to ID her easily.

White men with guns scare the crap out of me -- also, bombs.

You make good points, but I would have expected the manager to contact the guests immediately when the Uber driver showed up to apologize and comp the stay.  The reporting I’ve seen suggests the manager did nothing like that and allowed the woman to leave.

Joe *has* to be the adult in the room.  We don’t.  We get to say all the things everyone is thinking.  Karma’s a bitch, and so are we.

The problem is that Warren’s seat would be filled by the governor until there could be an election (assuming, please god, Biden wins) and the Massachusetts governor is a Republican — and there’s some real hope that the Senate could go to the Dems this time, and we can put some less crazy judges into vacancies as a

Prince covered Beck at his Coachella show.  There is no doubt that he had love and respect for Beck.

Yup, and a legitimate reporter would respect that.

The FBI doesn’t find people “innocent.”  It can find there isn’t enough evidence to pursue criminal charges, which isn’t the same thing.

If you were raised properly, you would know that relying on false historical claims does not help any argument.

This, sadly, is so typical of mansplaining a woman’s actions and motivations. While I concur that Daenarys has some problematic white savior aspects, to claim that she has done and could do nothing without her name and her dragons is to ignore the following: (1) the assaults and injustices the character has endured

There's a whole weekend coming up — you might find the time then. It's worth it.

Part of the problem, highlighted in a March 2015 article in the NYTimes, is that even with AEA, these abuses happen.

You’re not looking like an asshole to me. It’s hard to take a contrary view on here, especially about this subject, and the ad hominem attackers are the real assholes. You are asking for a conversation, and some are honoring that — a lot are getting inappropriately nasty for you daring not to hew the line. FWIW, I

You are correct. This is the downside of reporting about legal decisions with no actual knowledge of the law and how it works.

You likely don’t understand what a preliminary injunction is. It is not a final ruling. It’s a jump-the-gun effort in a case to get the remedy you seek before you actually have a complete trial to prove your case. They are very hard to get, because they upend the normal situation in which a plaintiff must prove her
