Not to mention that you’re accusing anyone who disagrees with immoral, unnatural, and unhealthy behavior as “homophobic” and having said “awful things.”

Glad you have one more incident after 30 years to corroborate your blanket summation of an entire city. Maybe next time Philly fans should paralyze a fan at a game, like those class acts would in San Francisco.
These kind of referendums are the closest we get to a direct democracy, so it’s still pretty accurate to refer to our allegiance to democratic principles, although I know that, yes, a republican government is not the same as a direct democracy.
Ugh, I really feel for you. Public financing of stadiums is a joke and needs to be over as a thing. And now you don’t even get to vote on it. Just...yay democracy?

Fair enough. Just especially notable now that we’re in “Why Your Team Sucks” season, which pretty much explains that fans everywhere can be examples of humanity at their worst.
Great comment. If nothing else, I’m at least glad that this debacle (re: shitshow) has brought out some legitimately decent analysis of how courts work, and the politics of the entire process.
Oh, shit, I totally didn’t two and two together.
According to Jeff, “the assholes in Philly, the racists in Washington and the rednecks in Dallas” and, deriving from contexts, the bitches in New York. But, you can transpose any of those descriptors for any other city’s fans, and you’d be 100% correct. So basically, what I’m saying is, in that one line, Jeff WYTS-ed…
That was a bases-clearing triple, if not an inside the park home run (depending on if the scorer assessed a throwing error on the RF). Killer comment.
SHOTS FIRED!
Right? This whole thing seems fishy. If I didn’t know any better, and I don’t, I’d think the Wilpons were still on the hook for Madoff fallout and realized they wouldn’t be able to make their next settlement payment if the trade went down.
I know 3 or 4 guys who have been falsely accused of rape. I myself have experienced at least 3 unwanted sexually aggressive “assaults”. In both instances, it is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and I will never take a woman lightly.
And there it is...turning a “all sports fans are awful” story into “Yeah but Philly lulz”
So, basically, welcome to the professional sports world rookie? Totally do feel bad for him, but maybe he hit his emotional apex then, and any subsequent deal wold be like “Well, I’ve been through this before.” Either way, the handling was a bit untoward, even if perfectly legitimate. Ugh, this sports world. Yet,…
This is why I really dislike this Twitter news culture. Which also bleeds into things like “Breaking News! Cole Hamels...close to being traded to Texas.” Can we at least let them pass the physicals before “reporting”?
Oh man thanks for saying that, I thought I was crazy! Maybe it was intentional and meant to be a joke? That’s the only way to excuse such a callous reaction.
Gold, Joey, gold!
While he’s listening to his headphones. Oh, you probably don’t know what band it is. It’s Lithuania chill-groove-funk-step music. They’re the only good music out right now, really, but as soon as you start liking them, they’re not cool anymore.
