Ugh Ezra Miller. He does have a lot of talent, and I have great sympathy for people with addictions (even rich celebs!) but I think the whole cult and abuse thing should disqualify Ezra from The Life. (Then again, it hasn’t hurt Tom Cruise!)

To paraphrase, if there are 9 nazis and a guy with white nationalist and neo-nazi tattoos sitting at a table then there are 10 nazis.

I was thinking that she was more harshly judged because she was a woman, but Natasha Lyonne was a huge mess for many years, not to mention unmarried and childless, is also a woman and being judged by the same harsh standards, yet everyone adores her, so… talent.

Everything that gets negative reviews these days sparks a conversation about “review bombing””

No they don’t.

Fun fact: Hans Christian Anderson was inspired to write The Little Mermaid after the young man he was in love with married a woman, and he fell into a deep depression. So really, Ariel is a closeted gay man.

I’m guessing the new calculation is something extremely basic like “if a user has only ever rated this one movie, that rating won’t count for much” which would fix 90% of the problem without biasing the actual rating much. If someone who otherwise doesn’t care enough about rating movies to bother, makes an account

67 year old Dana Delaney has been unmarried and childless and seems to be able to secure regular employment in the industry. Same goes for 53 year old childless/unmarried Heather Graham. Granted, neither have done a role in a high profile project in a long time but they do work consistently.

Pixar already has you covered.

I saw the movie. It sucked. The actress playing Ariel was good and, shockingly, so was Melissa McCarthy. Still, it looked like shit, the best parts were just ripped from the original, and nearly every new thing they added was terrible. 5/10 just on the strength of the original.

But everything that gets negative reviews these days doesn’t spark a conversation about review bombing. No one claimed Lion King or Aladdin’s bad reviews were the result of review bombing. You’re inventing things out of thin air, son.

Didn’t she spend the better part of a decade wasted? I’m not making fun of her for being an addict, BUT I suspect that has more to do with her failure to secure work than whether she has kids or not.

Bullock also married a neo-nazi and that didn’t affect her career.

I don’t know if this true. Like didn’t Sandra Bullock wait until her 40s to get married? Tara Reed doesn’t seem particularly talented to me. She did show up to several red carpets high though.

Reid’s reformed party posse who’ve somehow managed to become more than the butt of America’s jokes: Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, etc., etc.

Gamera is friend to all grandchildren!

How would skin colour work for a mermaid? Scientifically I mean? Would it differ if they stayed below, and how deep? How far does the suns rays go into water and how much would it affect skin? Compared to coming up to the surface for short spouts like Ariel does? Would their skin be black from the depths of the ocean?

New algorithm - oh this asshole gave Captain Marvel and Ghostbuster 2016 0s. (Delete)

For example, racists might review bomb The Little Mermaid live action adaptation because they don’t like that a Black actor was cast as Ariel.

All grandchildren everywhere? You must be very rich!

They’re just doing what Metacritic already does with all ratings. “We have no way to vet who is reviewing these movies but we don’t have the resources to draw from more reviewers, so we’re just going to make up the numbers and tell you it’s part of the algorithm.”
