Look at the post I was responding to before you comment. It was purely about size and price, but thanks for inserting something I wasn’t comparing or talking about.

It’s not like the class-leading infrastructure is going away, and I’d have this fancy high tech car at a bargain price.
If the CEO wasn’t an unhinged genius who I have no intention of supporting financially or otherwise, I’d probably have a Tesla parked in my garage now
Having known someone who had a tank of diesel filled into his Ford Escape I know that it can cost thousands if it doesn’t total the car. As getting the car to pass smog tests afterwards involves replacing a variety of sensors for the emissions control system...
He has no idea.
Perhaps if the other domestic automakers had the same incentive, then they wouldn’t have one foot in the grave.
I briefly considered a Model Y when looking at EVs. Musk’s antics definitely helped make my decision to not buy one. It wasn’t the biggest factor—the lack of CarPlay was way bigger an issue—but it was certainly at least a tiebreaker.
lmaoooo “vision and balls”
The base-model Y only comes as a 5-seater, that’s why I compared it to the 2-row Forester instead of the Ascent. The Y is only 5" longer than the Forester as well.
Unhinged genius...you’re half right, I’ll give you that...
clearly they are worth whatever Tesla decides to charge
That’s where I am. I need a new car fairly soon. The Model Y would probably make sense for me economically and practically, in a lot of ways. I don’t want to think of that jerk every time I get in my car, though, and I don’t want to despise my car when I’m supposed to be enjoying it because of that. So that entire…
My conservative family thinks “green” is the devil but Muskrat is so insane they want a Tesla now, to advertise what they “believe”.
If I can lease a Tesla for 6 months or so and get it out of my system, I would. I can’t decide if I really want one. I have a passing curiosity, an itch for it and I won’t know what I won’t know until I get behind the wheel of one and live with it for a while. Not that I have anywhere to charge an EV, though. I don’t…
Neck snapping acceleration isn’t important in a market segment where only a small minority of compact CUV owners care about 0-60 times or other performance measures. This is why so few automakers even bother with optional performance powertrains for them anymore.
I’m “that guy.” If the CEO wasn’t an unhinged genius who I have no intention of supporting financially or otherwise, I’d probably have a Tesla parked in my garage now, and if not I’d have ordered a Y at this fire sale price. It’s not like the class-leading infrastructure is going away, and I’d have this fancy high…
Fuck Mush. I’m not giving him any of my money.
Besides the 3 of 5 Subaru Legacy models with a base price under $30K? Or Base or Premium Outback?
The unhinged ravings of the face of Tesla has to be playing into this. He’s basically attacking his core demographic over and over while embracing the demographic that thinks climate change is a hoax. Not a strategy for long-term success. Even the most loyal ‘stans have to be starting to lose it a little as they see…
$46,990 is still about $20k more than that car is worth.
