It’s been a ton of labor for me because I live in the rust belt. I had a hard time finding an IRS in general so when one showed up in Illinois, I jumped on it even though it was rusty as heck.

I spent the last year grinding, sanding, and painting the thing back to its former glory. I also did a Full Tilt Boogie

I was doing the same thing with my ‘03. Bought 4-valve motor from a Lincoln to swap into it. Unfortunately life got in the way and the project had to go but now I’m on the hunt for a true Terminator. But damn do people want a lot of money (and rightfully so.)

The Edge was most definitely bigger on the inside, and outside, than the Escape.

I live in Tennessee and the fool we have for Governor doesn’t seem to care about anyone here.

Sure hope y’all don’t vote him out.

I had a 5 speed Focus wagon with this engine for a number of years, and for whatever reason I still think about it more than I should? It wasn’t fast, but the stick was near-Honda quality and driving dynamics were good. Mileage in the high 30s, and could haul ANYTHING with rear seats down? 3 bikes and gear for three

My Ex had one of these and was great. They are pretty prone to rust. Even after moving from the rust belt to the desert it still managed to rust away. Shame because it was fun thing to hustle around and cost next to nothing to buy and maintain. Her’s was an auto and still managed to return ~30mpg loaded to the gills

This is really unfortunate. That DCT transmission ruined an otherwise great car. I have a manual 2013 Focus and it has been absolutely amazing. 140,000 miles and counting. I’ve replaced the battery, fluids, filters, breaks, tires, inner tie rods and that’s it. Well, I also did spark plugs and wires at 100,000 but it

just shut up. You weren’t going to buy one anyways. Everybody on Jalopnik talks about how they would buy a brand new car, but only if the automakers sold it with their specific options, and then they use that as excuse to not buy a car they weren’t actually going to buy in the first place.

This is how you list your used car. NP for solid human seller, and of course for a cheap. easy to live with DD

They seem to be straddling this really weird editorial line where personal car ownership should only be shitty vehicles that you buy for less than a $1000, drop a bunch of time and money into, and then never drive into a city.

Get it so Americans don’t need a car at all.”

Ironically, one passed in front of me today & i was thinking  man....they still look good..

I still see plenty of Focuses and Fusions being driven around. I would understand killing the Fiesta, but the other two seemed like they were doing fine. Truly cutting the nose to spite the face.

This is a stupid, stupid, stupid law. I don’t need the giant truck in from of me at a red light in a left turn lane continually flashing their blinker directly into my face and blinding me while I wait an eternity for the light to cycle at a four way stop.

I see your floating roof, and I raise you “halogen projector lights, attempting to fool people into thinking they’re HID/LED lights”. They don’t illuminate shit, and also look like shit...

God damn that is a beautiful car.

So many great submissions. I’ll just add the P71 Police Interceptor. It has had a very long career.

Or getting two Masters in fields that don’t pay...
