Look back over the past, with its changing empires that rose and fell, and you can foresee the future too. Its pattern will be the same, down to the last detail; for it cannot break step with the steady march of creation. ~Marcus Aurelius

As you’re probably aware (but other might not be) the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) does wonderful essential work on study and monitoring. Kinda a big deal, the Great Lakes watershed is. GLERL is under NOAA and partners with Canadian agencies, other US agencies, academia and nonprofits.

Looks like it was preserved in sandstone, which implies that it was rapidly buried, possibly during a sandstorm.

The Birchers...effect was massive.

It’s fascinating to watch the same set of accusations spin out again and again over fookin’ MILLENIA.

A couple of years ago I began taking Metamucil sugar free powder twice a day. Yes I feel like an old man stocking the giant cannisters of it in my house, but it works wonderfully, and as far as I know has no negative health effects. Not only does it help keep things moving, cleanup is generally easier too.

Why are you going so far back in time? Do you not remember the Birther Conspiracy, Emails, Benghazi, Chemtrails, Flat Earth, Mass Shootings Being Fake, Soros, Sharia Law, NINE ELEVEN, JFK, Moon Landing? We had some fucking hits in the last 60+ years.

Definitely dropping some nuggets here.

Its number 2 on my list.

In fairness, Mars only has like 1% Earth’s atmospheric pressure. So maybe the “click, click” would sound 100x louder on Earth.

Because they edited it out in post

that’s because it’s all a hoax!

Inadequate as ringtones, but I suppose you can’t have everything.

Why “click, click’ and not ‘pew, pew’ as sci-fi movies have led me to believe? Highly disappointed NASA.

Why fix it? There’s good money to be made prolonging the problem.

Democracy is fine but it needs an educated and engaged populace to work well. The political parties, especially the Republicans, have been working hard to kill morale for civic engagement and destroy civics education for the best part of 50 years, if not longer. Now they’re directly passing laws that make it harder to

f (x)=3x,g(x)=x-1⇒(f ∘g)(x)=3(x-1)

It would be super fun if, over the course of this lawsuit, it’s affirmed that not only is their case nonexistent, the actual figures are too conservative and are subsequently bumped up to more adequately reflect reality.

As a 10 year resident of Missouri I can tell you that you hit the fucking nail square on the head with that statement.
