They didn’t, but it might not have survived anyway. They suffer from high catch/release mortality at that size, due to the pressure change being hauled up to the surface from their 55-525m deep range. Oh, and a big specimen like that? Probably took at least 20 years to get to that size (age can be up to 60 years).…
