Cryptocurrency is a mystery to me. Not wanting to have geography also be a mystery, I wikipedia’d Inner Mongolia to find out how it fits in with China. I guess it’s officially an autonomous region of China. Then as one does once one is on wikipedia - it’s fun facts galore. The mining analogy seems even more apt here

Personally I’d love to see a Tuf Voyaging TV series. With it’s focus on environment and consequences it would make for some anvilicicious TV.

Incidentally, that cover was painted by Rowena Merrill, who died last month at the age of 76. She was one of the few women SF cover artists in the ‘70s and ‘80s, when it was largely a male-dominated field. Details of her life and work can be found here:

This is one of Martin’s sharper, meaner novellas, and is a really natural fit for an adaptation—but I don’t know if Verbinski’s style of maximalism is going to be a good fit!
