That’s the spirit!

An otter is essentially just that.

She’ll experience an overwhelming urge to eat her partner after a successful mating.

You evidently don’t understand what a scientific consensus is.

The federal Conservative Party of Canada decided that there was no such thing as anthropogenic climate change in their 2023 annual meeting. By a vote.

These things always end well:

Dingoes came from Melanesia - they were originally domesticated dogs and reached Australia by human agency, but their ancestors went feral in a big way. The most closely related breed lives in New Guinea.

They also had to compete with dingoes. They went extinct on the mainland about the same time that dingoes arrived there. But the picture appears to be complex - climate change and human pressure are also implicated.

These days, given that just about everyone carries a camera in their phone, that’s particularly telling.

Let’s use the proper term - they weren’t over-hunted, they were exterminated. The desired end of the bounty program was the elimination of the species in Tasmania.

The fat-tailed dunnart has been put forward as a candidate, athough it seems kind of small to me.

It’s quite easy to get water up your nose when swimming. And people will immerse themselves in natural warm-water springs - it’s supposed to be therapeutic.

Jan Zalasiewicz has written some very good popular science books on geological topics. I’ve just finished his The Planet in a Pebble - in it he made geochemistry accessible and interesting.

So this sort of thing’s no longer an option, then:

Don’t underestimate Roombas. One zips under your feet at the head of the stairs and you’re a goner.

Carbon dating isn’t going to tell you what the evolutionary relationships of an organism are. All it will tell you is how old it is, provided it’s younger than 50,000 years or so.

They find you.

It appears that hydrogen’s role as a greenhouse gas (in Earth’s atmosphere) is a bit ambiguous - https://www.advancedsciencenews.com/is-hydrogen-a-greenhouse-gas-and-do-we-care/

Why would the atmosphere necessarily be hot?

Why not re-brand it as a homeopathic remedy?
