Shit, State Farm better watch its back. Allstate’s gonna swoop in, buy out their clients, and turn the Rockets’ season into one big “Mayhem” ad.

How dare they besmirch the greatness of Shawn Kemp and Detlef Schrempf!

It’s all just Harden trying to off Paul in increasingly wacky “Home Alone” type scenarios, so he can collect a life insurance policy he took out on him.

Modern NBA jam would be all mathematics based deep threes and drawing contact fouls. The only possible upside would be Draymond Green absolutely rocketing a pass in a defenders dick and balls.

The next batch of State Farm Commercials are gonna be wild

came under the care of Dr. Rick Celebrini

Im against the "Messi didnt carry us" crowd...but......you kinda insinuate that he hasnt played on some loaded (more or less) Argentinean sides. Which is laughable.

Kuzma’s not bad, though I’m not sure “18, 5, and 2 with a 14 PER at age 23" is indicative of impending superstardom or anything.

and on top of all that, if the pelicans didn’t have the security of the #1 in their back pocket already, would they have traded Davis this quickly?

100 percent. It’s the difference between a top 4 pick and a top 20 pick which is where the Lakers would be if the trade was made during the season. It also let the Pels hear what the Celts were offering which at the time many believed would include Tatum.

People also seem to not take into account both teams final records had the deal been done during mid-season. Does anyone really think that the Lakers would have wound up with the same record if they had half a season of LeBron and AD? Does anyone think the Pels record wouldn't change if you brought in three dudes

From time to time, they’ll take up untenable positions as the site standard based on something dumb one of the staff wrote. This particular case is clearly circling the wagons around Albert Burneko’s hot take and subsequent thin-skinned pissbaby response to criticism.

basically, what they were offering six months ago

This is a real doozy from that thread too:

Here is the full thread.

Here’s how it ended. Looks like he sobered up, continued to claim that the Lakers pick was of equal value in February as it is now, and again criticized commenters for having the GALL to disgaree with him about the super serious topic of NBA offseason trades:

Canadians getting high horse Morally Superior(tm)? WHY, I NEVER.

I sure do seem to remember a comment posted shortly after the article came online criticizing some deadspin authors for their then-stupid, still-stupid take on the midseason trade attempts

Can’t seem to find it anymore, weird

Burneko. He got burned so badly that they had to delete an entire thread and possibly ban a guy.

I’m a pretty disinterested Hawks fan on this one, Albert, but you keep picking the wrong hill to die on.
