Most of the times I’ve been catcalled have been first thing in the morning, after walking my kid to school. Baggy sweats, oversized hoodie, no makeup, greasy sloppy bun. My mother-in-law got catcalled in her gardening clothes. She’s 60.

GO girl. When I was younger, I used to dress in flannel shirts and jeans to avoid attention and instead of catcalls, I got insults, and even “well-meaning,” “Why do you dress like that??” Uh, because you told me to dress down if I didn’t want your fucking attention. Here it is, now STFU.

If you’d allow me to explain with a lengthy comment: It’s easier to understand if you live here, as it’s basically all cultural and has nothing to do with politics. A. he’s a liberal, which of course means he’s evil. B. he’s black.

People who are perpetually late. If you are NEVER on time to ANYTHING, that’s a problem. Beyond the ability to manage a schedule and be a responsible person, there are deeper issues. Often times those people have a deep rooted issue with caring about your time and the effort you put into being organized.

Wrong. A person doesn’t owe you an explanation for why they’re not interested. The fact that they’re not interested should be enough.

This is not to say that providing a reason wouldn’t be nice, or helpful. Just that people do not owe you a reason for saying no to a date or romantic overture.

What the hell makes someone decide this is an okay thing to do? I mean, yes, she’s 13 - but that makes it even sadder to me. The fact that a 13-year-old would be able to come up with a story about getting raped and kidnapped is just tragic. What a horrible situation for everyone involved.

As a short person of color I do not move over for white people. At some point in my life I realized most didn’t even see me (invisible) or they felt entitled to simply walk straight while I moved over. Not any more.
