You’re conflating HamNo’s references to tech-oriented places with him only focusing on that. It’s pretty clear from the rest of the article that he’s talking about a general affordability crisis in the entire country. And he’s right. Even back when I rented out in the suburbs, it was unaffordable.

I don’t know where the hell you got this “business class” thing. HamNo was pretty clearly talking about building houses EVERYWHERE, not just specific locations that happen to be populated by various elites or non-elites that you may personally despite.

They don’t do that because the zoning restrictions prevent developers from building as many units as they think the market can handle. Instead, they’re usually stuck with only 70% of that, so they do their damnedest to sell that 70% for as much as they can.
