I think a lot of Premium/Luxury car companies did not look at Tesla as being in the same strata as them....so they figured they could sell similar cars at a significant price premium to Tesla.

Great, now all they need is a supercharging network so people can actually take advantage of that range! And maybe reduce the price...oh and add some kind of autonomous driving capabilities.

Yeah, but if you’re going to compare the $349 Apple Homepod to a Google product, in fairness you’d have to compare it to the Google Home Max ($399) which also has amazing sound…plus you still get Google (much better), assistant.

I don’t think there would be a “tax” issue. Technically they are not selling for profit, they are taking part in a settlement as “victims” of a fraud. You don’t pay taxes as recipients of lawsuit settlements.
