A twofer between 1) automatic high beams that turn on when there is zero need for high beams and spend a second or two blinding me before they realize I’m there and 2) people whose regular headlights are obscenely bright and blind me for considerably longer.

It would be one thing if they all said the same couple of things, like after the third “YAHOO, good job Mario!” or whatever I would probably turn them off, but they’re all different! Some of them say different things depending on the situation, it’s great.

I missed that these were re-banned in 2022 - they can be a lot of fun and if I had kids, I wouldn’t have powerful magnets, but it’s wild that guns are apparently safer to have around children than tiny magnets.

About all we know about the location of Wonka’s factory is that it’s close to Charlie and his families’ home. And given how poor they are, it seems fair to reason that they probably haven’t moved in a while, so likely whatever their nationalities, that’s the same as where Wonka’s factory is.

Yeah, there’s a lot about Willy Wonka’s operation that should have gotten him in a LOT of trouble if anyone paid any attention.

I bought a new refrigerator last year and I intended to bring a magnet from home to make sure beforehand that it was magnetic. I forgot to do it, but I got lucky that it is. In hindsight, I was in a hardware store so I likely could have obtained a magnet from elsewhere in the store, but alas.

I’ll sometimes take a photo of food that I’ve personally prepared just because I’m proud of myself (and sometimes because I want a record of what it looked like in order to compare it to other times I’ve made or will make the same thing), but I’ve also never felt the drive to take a picture of a meal at a restaurant.

I’m not saying they replaced Martinet for localization purposes, I’m saying that part of why they might not want the new actor to be iconically associated with the character is that it gives them more freedom to use different actors in different situations (and different countries) than they did with Martinet.

They don’t want another Charles Martinet - don’t get me wrong, I love Martinet, Nintendo loves Martinet, EVERYBODY loves Martinet, but they boxed themselves into a situation where an actor was iconic enough for fans to notice and talk about him.

I guess, but all it takes is a pickup truck and nobody will think anything of them driving around. It’ll take a little longer (and maybe a friend) to get the locker instead of a single box, but I don’t think it’s likely they’ll be stopped.

If you want a parcel drop box that secures to the ground...

Couldn’t you just put the code in the address? Like “John Smith, Box Code 1234, 987 Fake St”? I guess that relies on them seeing it though.

This is indeed awesome, but from the headline I thought he was going to be playing the organ live with the Game Boy and I just wasn’t sure how that was going to work out. Composing a MIDI song on the Game Boy and then playing it through the organ makes a lot more sense.

It’s the whole “players getting mad at someone else for not making the decision that they would have made” thing that makes me not want to play blackjack or other games like it in casinos (I mostly stay away entirely, but if I’m in there it’s usually slot machines or roulette). Like, it’s gambling - what the other

Right, I knew there was something I was forgetting.

But I guess the one stashed on top of the Hateno Village Research Lab still had a purpose in the world?

The way something is generally “rated” is objective, but “overrated” (and “underrated”) is a subjective view of that objective rating. So if the overall opinion is that something is really really good but an individual thinks that it is only pretty good, saying it is “overrated” is perfectly appropriate (even if

TIL Coney Dogs aren’t from the Coney Island in New York

I haven’t had one of these but as a lover of tzatziki and a hater of ranch, I’m inclined to agree.

For the movie, is he currently a cop? Because I’m unsure if a former cop counts as a cop. A former cop very often can be (and usually is) a bastard, but I don’t know if it’s still a requirement.
