Can confirm - bought a house last year that had several LED light fixtures and I replaced the main lights in about every room with the Lutron dimmer switches designed to work in regular lightswitch slots. They work great.

And honestly CFLs didn’t help. I think most people know the difference between incandescent, CFLs, and LEDs, but I’m sure some people tried out CFLs and saw how they flickered and took time to warm up and pretty much NONE of them worked with dimmers and wrote off all non-incandescents without even trying LEDs (or more…
They can call them milkshakes if they want, but when I’m buying a milkshake I intend to drink it. I’m in NC and we have Cook Out, a fast food chain famous for their milkshakes, but they’re in the same boat in that most of the flavors are too thick and/or full of things so that you can’t drink them - they taste great,…
Older LED bulbs didn’t work well or sometimes at all with dimmers, but newer ones are a lot better. If you need to get them even dimmer, you can usually buy lower-brightness ones (or sometimes a different color will do the trick).
Yeah, after the first season most of the side characters all start to blend together - “which old white guy is this again?” I haven’t read any books past the first two (the short story ones) and played like a third of The Witcher 3 (didn’t really like it), so I had a lot of trouble following it too. My partner, who is…
I gotta wonder what they were going for - if they thought audiences couldn’t handle the politics, why did they attempt it at all? Why half-ass something like that?
The first season was fun because each episode, for the most part, was self-contained. They didn’t have to figure out how to write political elements or serialized stories because that’s just what the show (and the early short stories the first season was based off of) was at the time. And it’s a lot easier for bad…
I’d say that the first season was the only actually “good” season of the show - I enjoyed parts in seasons 2 and 3 (I haven’t finished the back half yet), but not at a “this is legitimately good” level. And I don’t think that it’s a coincidence that the first season was largely based off of the earlier Witcher short…
Angry Beavers = Day One purchase
Yeah then the advice probably isn’t for you. I’m not super self-conscious but I am particular about wearing certain things. I just think it looks better to put shorts on over these and there’s not really a cost to doing it.
I got these at Trader Joe’s a month or two back. They were fine, nothing to write home about. Hadn’t heard about the Disneyland Pickle Dog until just now (since I’ve never been to Disneyland and am not a food blogger) so I had no point of comparison there, for better or worse. Would definitely try the original since I…
The article starts off with “you’ll look like you’re wearing a diaper” so I assume some people care. And 1) just because you’re getting exercise doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about your appearance and 2) if you’re potentially going to not exercise because you’re embarrased about your appearance, it can matter a lot.…
Another alternative for Android is to install a custom home screen, like Nova Launcher, but that may well be too much work just for one app renaming.
If you’re worried about how they look, just put a pair of gym shorts on top of them. I don’t think that’ll hurt anything.
Looks like you could make a mean mustard boba tea with some.
Possibly, but pharmacies seem to have it figured out pretty well. Though I think that’s a benefit of this system, with the kitchen above the lanes, since it’s more of a chute than an elevator - fewer moving parts to break, easier to clean, etc.
That’s similar to how the Chick-Fil-A app works - they start making your food when you’re close, but you have to manually tell it that you’re close and it won’t let you do that until GPS reports that you actually are close. I was lucky in my old office (pre-covid) that it was close enough to a Chick-fil-A that I could…
Growing up, my dad didn’t get off of work until 6 and after that he had to get home and then we’d discuss dinner and either make or (more often) pick it up. Meaning actual mealtime was almost never earlier than 7pm.
It blew my mind when I looked up King of the Hill and realized that Kahn and Cotton were both voiced by Artie, the Strongest Man in the World.
Hey, someone ponied up for voice actors this time around. Color me slightly more interested.
