I’ve never seen anyone do it in real life, but I’ve seen it in movies and tv shows, so I assume some people do it as a result of that. Also I’m not a service worker, so I wouldn’t have seen it.
Politely telling the employee that you don’t know what’s good and asking for suggestions or advice is totally fair. “What you like” is generally easy. I think the problem is when someone says “surprise me” and nothing else, they actually have a lot of things in mind that they just didn’t feel like communicating and…
For me it’s the same thing as how I never want anyone to tell the restaurant that it’s my birthday for any reason, I don’t want them to gather around singing, drawing the attention of the entire restaurant my way.
Me:
I mean, maybe? I’m definitely not a cinephile (I prefer tv and video games to movies, most years I’ve only seen 0-1 of the Best Picture noms) but is that a problem? There are certainly more emotionally complicated movies out there than what I usually prefer (including Shawshank Redemption) but that is decidedly also…
No worries! My partner is gluten free so I’ve gotten better at recognizing what is and what isn’t.
I’ve never seen a package of three Reese’s cups in my 35 years of life. Even the King Size ones are four cups.
All Reese’s cups are already gluten free, so I imagine this new one is as well unless they added gluten back in for some reason.
I mean, if you want to call a cheeseburger “plant based” because it contains lettuce and tomato (and because cows eat grass and so are themselves “plant based”) then sure, but that’s not how anybody uses the term. It’s marketing and it may not be 100% accurate, but most people understand it pretty easily so I don’t…
I like that he was sweaty after the match but completely dry during it.
They replaced milk chocolate (which contains dairy) with oat chocolate (which combines cocoa solids with non-dairy oat milk).
Not milk chocolate, no
Yeah I can definitely see the benefit of “have a home phone for your kids to be able to make calls without giving them their own cell phone” but unless you have call forwarding set up to route incoming calls to your person cell, I definitely wouldn’t put everything on it.
If anything, this list just reconfirms my lack of desire to play FF16. I’ve beaten most of the mainline series (9/15) but I’ve never even played any of the games on the list here. So I may be right that the gameplay doesn’t look like something I’d enjoy.
Don’t get me started at hoping to find some delicious butter in this jar of Jif...
We need a legal precedent for “thing named after a thing that it isn’t, but is best defined as such” because this shit keeps happening across different industries. Boneless wings, almond/soy/whatever milk, open-face sandwich, fake/vegan meat, etc. It’s an advertising tactic that makes sense and should be allowed.
??? I’m not asking for sympathy? I admit that I jumped to an incorrect conclusion but in my defense the article didn’t do a good job of explaining exactly what was going on and I don’t think my concerns were unfounded. I’m not the one who got hostile.
What’s your problem? I’m sorry that I’ve played hundreds of hours of Mario Kart 8/Deluxe and don’t know how many “points” different characters have. Weird how the game doesn’t display these points anywhere but I’m supposed to just know them? I know what driver I like, I don’t have to know what numbers he has, I’m not…
It’s not like a typical stand-up special that’s an edited version of a live show.
