@jackburnt You beat me to the Sartre joke. Nicely done.

Well, Splenda gets a "D" from this organization. I wonder what else gets a "D" grade? Oh, caffeine does, too. Lactose, the naturally occurring sugar found in milk, gets a "C" from them.
I started using Lose It about 6 weeks ago and I've lost 8 pounds just by changing my diet. Being able to immediately see the damage I'm about to do before I eat something makes a significant difference in how I choose my food.
@virgilstar: My wife and I were given a Nook color for Christmas and at first I was nonplussed. Then I realized it could be rooted to become a fully-functional Android tablet. I love it, and at half the cost of an iPad it's a great deal.
Low blood sugar. When it drops, I'm a jerk no matter what the provocation.
I'd really like dependent tasks that remain hidden until their prerequisite tasks have been completed. For example: I don't need to see "mail Bill's b-day card" until I've checked off "buy Bill's b-day card."
I wonder if this trend has to do with more 'normal' people using Facebook to share links. 3,000,000 people may 'like' your cat video, but if Google can't see it, it doesn't mean anything for your search results.
@MizJenkins: Me, too. In fact, I used to plug a small space heater into an outlet timer to kick on 10 minutes before my alarm for just that reason. Getting up wasn't so bad when the room wasn't freezing cold.
@JBu92: Ditto on Q10
@Linkmaster94: I got a basic black Eastpak for grad school in 2001 and have used it 5 days a week ever since. Haven't had a single problem in all that time.
Q10 has gotten me through two NaNoWriMo wins, and will hopefully carry me through to another this year. And yes, the typewriter sounds are what make it.
@Terry Tao: Man, Flickr isn't being very helpful with this one. I searched the camera finder for the Droid X and got the response, "Sorry, there aren't any 'interesting' recent shots taken with a Motorola DROID X."
I'm a photographer who would like to get a new phone with a decent camera. Sadly/luckily I'm on Verizon and don't intend to switch should I:
If you want to make McDonald's style fries that Julia Child would have enjoyed you'll have to fry them in beef tallow.
How about a highly-regarded teacher who also has some semblance of a life outside the classroom. That would impress me! Maybe Doug Lemov?
$10/month is a terrible bargain compared to Netflix, so no. If I could watch almost any television show from the past 10 years or so, though—yeah, I'd consider switching and using Red Box for movies.
1) When it's not a security issue.
I recently set up QOS on my Tomato router when Mozy running on my desktop starting killing my browsing speeds on my laptop. As you mention in the article, it's not quite the same thing, but this looks like a great solution for someone running a backup app like Mozy or Carbonite on their primary computer.
It appears turning off Buzz completely would also remove all my subscriptions in Google Reader. Is that right??
I choose my mode of communication based on the person I'm contacting and the urgency of the request.
