I read it last year (at 22) and I loved it. Sure, the reference points were a bit dated, but I just loved the style and thematics. It's a plea for connection in a detached, ironic world, which I feel is still very relevant (but being set in the early-90s, it doesn't go for the lazy internet-bashing that a similar work

I felt The Room of the System was his weakest. It feels like an incredibly intelligent young person attempting to re-write The Crying of Lot 49 (with 80s cultural references instead of 60s). It has potential, but never quite realises it. Girl With Curious Hair feel like a course correction and a new beginning.

America would be a great starting point for a potential series. You can build the world up from the bottom up and over the course of the story you're introduced to the moral complexities of the whole thing.
