I'm a big fan of Ishiguro and really wanted to love it, but yeah it is very slow and meandering without ever really going anywhere*. It would have been a fantastic short story or novella, but it doesn't quite hold together as a novel. I wonder if I may appreciate it more on re-read.

Great would be a joke, but wasn't Bret actually in the first Hobbit?

Weaving No, wait that's a man's game.

Yeah, I was almost certain it was already a thing because, well, it's not exactly hard to imagine someone putting vodka in something to make it more potent, especially when they're Scottish…

Oh man, I memorised Albie and would occasionally just start reciting it. I am a very cool, normal person, obviously.

Glasgow Blackout: Not really a conscious attempt to create a cocktail, but at a party I once decided to mix Buckfast* and vodka. I remember little of the night.

Exactly.

Hmm, maybe, but spiking someone's drink in order to make them sleep with you is at the very least morally wrong and to be honest sounds pretty much like rape to me.

I keep forgetting they exist… when was the last time they had something really worth watching?

Yeah that frame of mind of 'Well, if things were equal I could punch a woman' is just stupid bollocks. You shouldn't be punching anyone.

Ron is Nick if he wasn't a big giggly goofball.

And Sky Atlantic has Show Me a Hero for those of us who don't mind waiting a day.

Probably due to the rugby team I'd actually forgotten NZ had a flag that wasn't the fern.

My last girlfriend was Hindu and hated it if I killed bugs and that kinda stuck with me so now I spend forever trying to usher wasps out of an open window…

I kinda like the song that samples 'Rock The Casbah' and I don't know why. I'm probably an idiot.

I feel you - I found out I share my name with Skrillex…

I liked Jurassic World and Jupiter Ascending!
