I generally agree, although there was a weird pile-on last week after a commenter expressed some justified annoyance that Microsoft's new slate of games were entirely fronted by grizzled white men.

She actually did turn up down here after an interview once a good few years back (although maybe you knew that and that was what you were referencing…)
I think I can chart the point where I stopped caring about whether music i listened to was hip or not was when I moved from The Postal Service's cover of 'Against All Odds' to the original Collins version…
"You have died, George."
To be fair, the cover of Good Year for the Roses from that album was one of his biggest hits so it's not completely obscure.
Channel 4's press release was odd - they justified it by saying that they had some new shows on the horizon. As if they ran a 'one in, one out' policy.
Did you like Cloud Atlas? I'd say that would be a fairly good indicator.
Yeah, it was weird hearing almost everyone else saying that the first episode was bad, because I was into it from the beginning. Then again multiple interlinked narratives with vaguely spiritual sci-fi background stuff is my jam.
I was getting a bit worried there, it seemed to go quiet for a while after JMS said at comic con it'd be announced soon. The first series is one of the best new shows I've seen in a while.
I love Gone Home. It felt like I was playing through a short story, but equally it didn't feel too linear and restrictive (even though it technically was). It reminded me of Dear Ether but with a more direct narrative.
Looking back the thing that I really didn't like about the last series was that half of it was spent on boring soapy school drama with Clara's home life. If they cut down on that and just have them travelling then I'm in…
I've realised who Trump reminds me of - he is the spitting image of Rygel from Farscape.
Speaking as a student I feel I should make some defence of Spoons because they're reasonably cheap and have quite a wide selection, but that's not necessarily a hill I'd consider worth dying on.
In this version he's fighting bears.
I used to be sceptical about pricey alcohol but I tried some fancy gin at a show and boy could I tell the difference.
Oh, get a load of Mr. I Can Afford Something Other Than Tesco Finest Booze here.
You know these aren't particularly masterful either. I feel once again I've be duped by the AV Club.
Yeah, it's weird because he was positioned as this Billy Bragg-esque character and then he comes out with all this libertarian bollocks.
Rob is basically Bernard Black, isn't he?
Yeah, the Barry in the book is definitely not like Mitchell. To be honest, Black's performance may be dialled up a bit (certainly more loud) but otherwise pretty much like the book character. I'm trying to think of British comedy actor who can also sing that would work as Barry - Bill Baily maybe?
