I love Marr as a musician and I think he's constantly been one of the best sidemen around for the last 30 years (with Kirsty MacColl, Billy Bragg, Talking Heads, Modest Mouse, The Cribs etc.) but his solo stuff just does nothing for me.
It may be technically innovative but it's boring as hell and carries a social message that was already out of date when it was originally released and looks cartoonishly offensive these days.
