Chevy and Dodge/Chrysler were particularly bad about hyperactively changing names of their small cars in the USA. Every decade they seemed to barf up a new name - Cavalier, Cobalt, Cruze; Aries, Neon, Caliber, Dart.  At best, it was confusing.

The best part about the Escalade is that they haven’t changed the name/naming convention 400 times in the last 25 years.
