I was just a kid then, but it was clearly the prevailing thought that climate change was going to cause a freeze. it was in the school text books, it was worked into tv shows (even at least 1 Dr Who), by the 80's the shift focused to acid rain. every year, in every science class we watched a film about the destructive

He was mine too. Everyone I knew liked Ricky, but I had it bad for Jason Bateman. So long ago......But now I will watch him in anything.

I talked to my college age daughter last night and she informed me that she has to go see this movie. She gets back from college next weekend. I thought she’d be more into the Star Wars film than this. But she does adore Kate McKinnon. I do think it has an amazing cast, and my only thought when I see the trailer is

I love that painting. Every time I went to the Art Museum I would spend time just studying that painting. The eyes, his stance, all so powerful.

My brother had that Batman and Robin clock. I had a Raggedy Ann and Andy clock. My mom still has that Batman clock, but it no longer works.

i feel like the Rose McGowan story should have it’s own post. Maybe working on including others actresses who, in the past, have said the same thing.

I live in a very conservative area, and you know what, every woman I know thinks she has been an excellent role model and first lady. The men are a different story.

My daughter and I saw it twice this past weekend. My 5 children plus me went on Thursday to see it. We all enjoyed it (age range of kids is 22 down to 11. The 3 youngest are boys). Then on Saturday, after spending the day at my 18 year old’s college orientation, my husband, my daughter and I went to see it. He also

I was glad that Marvel respected the audience enough to not spend time going back through the characters back stories to explain the dilemma. We know their story. We know what happened.

Excellent article. Well researched and written.

That was exactly what I was going to write. They should be illegal. They are modern day with doctors and snake oil salesman.

Yes, even if the court had to find her guilty because of the way the law is currently written, the judge should have declared it “time served”. She shouldn’t see a day of prison, and she should be given the help needed to recover from years of abuse.

You got to it first, and explained it a lot better than I was going to. :)

It’s starting to sound a bit like a book I just read.

I know. I really think Kirsten Dunst should have won. And while I loved Wolf Hall, it should have been Fargo.

My first thought when I read the headline was, “how rude and how offensive.” I would assume it was a bad prank meant to insult Muslims. I hope they are able to figure out how it happened so that it can be prevented in the future.

I know. It would never work where I live. We don’t have a grocery store in town, or any stores a part from save a lot and a dollar store. The nearest Wal-Mart is 20 minutes from here. Any other store is an hour. Most people who live here commute an hour to work. There are no colleges our community colleges in the

I’ve read both of Bacigalupi’s books (Wind-up Girl is amazing), but now I want to read both Atwood’s and Robinson’s books. And I already have 3 books on my Kindle to read. I need to avoid these lists.

The law is bad. The only good reason for such a law, and the reason I had thought it was introduced and passed, was for child services to be able to more easily take custody of the child. That may sound cold, but if you’ve worked at all in those circles (nursing, social services, police) you desperately want a way to
