I see your point, but then again, Hitler was an impotent little man until suddenly he wasn't. These "alt-right" idiots have gained a degree of momentum that's pretty disquieting - until recently, they had the ear of the POTUS. I can't say how best to handle the threat, but ignoring them seems foolhardy.

So I gather from the general sentiment that no one else is pulling for the return of Little Nicky and Evelyn Marsh?

LET'S ROCK

Yes it does.

Great to have a wooden desk right now. (And in general.)

Despite being an Elliott Smith obsessive, it's taken me this long to purchase the Either/Or expanded edition. "I Figured You Out" sounds lovely - vinyl brings out the warmth in the accordion. Even when he was just slapping a demo together for Mary Lou Lord, he had such a natural ear for arrangement.

I find myself coming back to Flip Your Wig more often than anything else. Naturally I respect the significance of Zen Arcade, but at the end of the day I'm a sucker for melodicism.

Some of the new crop seem to want rather badly to be O'Neal but lack his finesse in negotiating the delicate balancing act between "lovable snarkmeister" and "prickly sphincter."

Ah, I guess that makes ever so slightly more sense. Still seems like much ado about relatively nothing, but then again, the '90s.

Thanks for the second opinion! I was a child when this stuff was going down and only have warm and fuzzy memories of Myst, Toonstruck, The Last Express, et al. to go on, so it's sometimes hard to tell if I'm wearing rose tinted shades.

That… wow. I got exposed to a number of FMV titles as a kid. Until now, I thought I knew from cheese, but that is positively transcendent in its pungence. Lieberman and co. really got their hackles raised over that? Anything for political mileage, I guess.

That was a damn creepy scene, actually. And yes, the Fat Man's musical contribution is the only element of these games that has truly aged well.

On the other hand, it gave us the infamous CHUCK ROAST! …I hate that I played T11H at an impressionable enough age to have some of the more preposterous scenes imprinted on my psyche.

Viewing rather than playing will at least save you the frustration of the abrupt shift from point-and-click puzzler to side-scrolling fighter about 3/4 of the way through. Pretty clunky mechanics, as I recall. But yeah, it is uniquely demented enough to be worth a watch. "Roger Corman meets David Lynch" is a frequent

You always were a kidder!

Alex Jones interests me. Not very handsome for a radio personality, but…

Sadly, I actually kinda believe him. Since this is still more or less a pop culture outlet, I'll explain by way of cinematic reference: https://www.youtube.com/wat…

Fair assessment. I guess McKean sells the self-righteous spitefulness so well that I'm seldom inclined to give Chuck the benefit of the doubt, but you're right - it can be two things.
