I was never, ever interested in VR. Seemed to me like everything on it would be gimmicky. But Resident Evil 7 has made me reconsider. There's no way I could be able to afford a PSVR right now, and maybe survival horror in VR could still count as "gimmicky," but man does that look like a compelling, fun, and terrifying

A Link to the Past is one of my all-time favorite games (if you couldn't guess by my avatar)! If you do play it, I hope you enjoy!

Leon's B scenario in Resident Evil 2. I've been on such a reading kick lately that I haven't played many video games. I was sick Tuesday this week, so while I was at home resting I played Claire's A scenario. I love this series so much, though. I think if I had to pick a favorite video game series, it would be a toss

I've never played a Dragon Quest game, but Dragon Quest Builders looks so appealing to me. I'm someone who likes direction in my games, so while I enjoy the gameplay of Minecraft I never stick with a world much past creating my first house, because I don't feel much motivation to do anything else, since there's no

Are you using save states at all? I definitely cheated and used them while playing through those games haha. I tried not to abuse it though. Basically I found that every level has a checkpoint somewhere in the middle and right before the Robot Master. So what I'd do is make sure to start each level with 2 lives (by

FFIX is the only Final Fantasy I've played. I loved the story and a lot of the attacks and monsters looked super cool. Vivi and Freya became two of my favorite video game characters ever, both in personality/characterization and appearance. But it definitely reaffirmed that the gameplay of JRPGs is not really for me.

Well, last time I played Resident Evil 2, I just did the Leon A > Claire B scenarios. That was about a month ago, but I think this weekend I'll do Claire A > Leon B. I've got enough games I haven't even touched yet, so I should probably start on them. But I need comfort food gaming this weekend I think. Plus I'd like

Well, this week I played The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Basically I'd say I liked it but didn't love it. Piecing together the crime scenes was fun, and some of the more surreal elements were pretty cool. But the narrative was only okay. I didn't really feel any emotional connection to the story or characters, and the

That's totally fair! I'm really not sure it's a game for me, and if I hadn't gotten it for free, I definitely wouldn't have spent my own money on it. And, since it was free, I won't feel as bad if I decide to drop it after only an hour or whatever.

Might have to try out that Nier: Automata demo. I haven't played the first and have ready very little about this new one, but the overall style of this one just looks so darn cool.

That honestly sounds wonderful! Sounds like something I'd really enjoy and appreciate. Thanks for the detailed explanation of your experience! :)

Hell yeah. Both are spoofs and love letters to their genres at the same time.

As someone who is fascinated by Overwatch and its characters and lore but generally resistant to online-MP-only FPSs, that description has definitely bumped my curiosity up to a desire to get it!

As someone who is just entering the second year of post-college employment and who is getting married in the Fall of 2017, I very rarely buy and play games the year they come out. In fact, I could probably count on one hand the number of games I've payed full price for/bought within a few months of their release date.

Thanks! I'd love to join next month if I'm free :) and by January 8 it is likely I'll have the DLC haha. Looks like getting the 2 DLC packs together is a super good value, and more Mario Kart is always a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I'd pretty much agree with what you said! Zero Mission was my first and it made me fall in love with the series. Super is by far my favorite though. It's a top 10 game for me, probably. I'd recommend starting with the 2D games before moving onto the Prime series.

I don't have the DLC, but looking at it, I could see Cat Peach becoming a main for me. Peach was my main in Super Mario 3D World and the catsuit was a great addition to that game.

If I have time, continuing on in Metroid Prime. Just got the the Omega Pirate last night. Died for the first time on this playthrough and called it a night. I think I figured out its patterns a little better throughout the first go at him so hopefully the next one goes better. This boss feels like a pretty steep

I bought them without the intention of playing them right away because I saw on Amazon used copies were going for a ton of money. So $10 (I think that's what it went for when it first came out on the VC…) was too good of a deal to pass up!

I'm not much of a shooter guy either, but after playing DOOM, which controlled so smoothly, earlier this year, I felt like those controls just worked better for me than the motion controls. But like I said, the motion controls work really great, so I don't want to complain too much! It's more of a minor nitpick on my
