I actually just said out loud, “... huh.” This makes an uncomfortable amount of sense. That plastic blade is not really good for anything. Use the steel one for pie crust and even pizza dough in the food processor. 

I just got a new food processor and being a nerd I read the whole manual. No, you actually use the cutting blade for pie crust. The plastic blade is apparently for gluten development; this of course means I will probably never use the plastic blade because I already have a dough hook for my kitchenaid.

Same steel blade I use for everything. I imagine if I had a plastic blade I’d use it. I’m using a Ninja with the motor on the top.
