Definitely some truth in that. Many sports suffer from that as well but the difference is you can still see everything from your seat. The track’s a bit bigger and with cameras all over anymore, you can choose what you want to see and at what time during the event, provided it’s broadcast.

The waning interest is indicative of all car culture. Cars are merely appliances these days. Secondarily, promoters/tracks/vendors/merchants blatantly rip off the few remaining fans you have. $300 bucks a night to stay in a Motel 6 race weekend? $20 to park in a field a mile away from the track? $9 beers? $40 for a…
