Seems like I heard there was no reason for anyone to invade Japan. They could have just blockaded them off and waited them out.

At least for me, the concept that if the US had not used the bombs means that lives would have been saved...that makes no sense to me.

This is not even debatable. About two weeks prior to the atomic bombings and about a month prior to the planned US invasion, the Japanese High Command briefed the Emperor about the US invasion. They had successfully predicted the location of the invasion and the relative time frame. At that meeting, the Emperor was

That was the problem I had with Ready Player One.

Pre-ordered, if only to see -which- Japanese nuclear weapons was successful first (Go Navy!).

In one of my many how to learn Chinese books there was a cool little tidbit about how Japanese linguists were planning, when they won the war (WWII), to replace English with Singlish. I think the spoken language was to remain effectively the same, but the written language was to be replaced with some form of Chinese

Oh, idea: Picture books. They’re like regular books, but with pictures! I’m gonna make millions!

Or maybe everyone needs to shut their noise-holes and see what it actually is before ragging on it or the director.

Copying an existing piece of art would likely infringe upon copyright. Since that individual piece is protected.
Producing a comic book would infringe upon trademarks, since it’s competition.

Well everyone is going on about it being a Cloverfield sequel. And then when the Cloverfield monster does not show up they are going to get all grumpy, so his statement seems pretty legit: “Not going to give it away, but not same monster, so stop thinking it is.”

Uh huh...I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone call Tyson “unlikeable.” Unreal.

Oh god JJ just shut up. Right now you have my ass in the seat with a Winstead/Goodman/Doomsday movie. Don’t ruin it by overselling it, nerd.

Maybe you shouldn’t have called it what you did, then.

The sound clip they played at the end reminded me of this:
