    Ignoring the anti-apple trolls which have come out to play, the idea of a common standard* sounds like a good idea to me, but I doubt it'll ever happen :( Just following said standard wouldn't magically allow devices to interconnect, they're still running over proprietary networks, to their own backends e.t.c.

    @ploopsy: Illegally presumably? I'm sure code exports from the US must be prohibited. In any case, didn't they develop their own OS now so long ago? I think there was a story on here about it.
