Actually, the problem is that they don't make as much money off of the regulars so they need to make articles that draw in gobs of new people (like this one) to make decent money. The regulars may help with the bills, but this is what gets them a bonus.

If it came down to simply criticizing Ray, Mike or Jalopnik in general I would have been destarred/banned for a while now. I'm actually surprised that it hasn't happened yet.

Thats the problem with a headline like the one they used and the picture they used. If the headline was "Unfortunately this picture is the hoax" you would have seen a lot less angry comments and a lot less people who were confused by this post.
