Have you tried “hair plopping”? My neighbor does this and has lovely curls. You basically wrap your wet hair (with styling product) in a t-shirt, tie it closed, and sleep on it.

It is rather insanely expensive ($400 at my salon) but living a life with fine and curly hair (worst combo ever) it’s changed my life. I always had (dyed) blonde frizzy fry lights. Now I have long silky hair that I didn’t think was possible. The first time I got caught in a rainstorm and came home with hair that was…
Idk if you’re in the same boat as me because I have curly hair that’s damaged within an inch of its life from bleach, and I’m just trying to keep it from continuing to break off. Since my hair is so dry I can put a ton of coconut oil in it every day and that kind of acts like a protein, so my hair feels like real hair…
yeah, I hear you. I think it’s basically the same principle as your mashing but maybe it disperses it a little more lightly and evenly. Clear eyebrow gel is on my list now too. Thanks for the thread!
My son is a curly, and in the mornings I wet his hair then spritz in some detangler or a teensy amount of conditioner on the ends know to frizz (currently Paul Mitchell detangler because I got a sample from somewhere, but it’s amazing). If it’s super cold outside I’ll blow dry it on a low setting (low heat and low…
Argan oil. Its light and your hair sucks it right up. Doesnt make it heavy or greasy and you put some on your hands, rub them together and apply to the ends. Your haur will love it
The Living Proof No-Frizz line is shockingly amazing. I haven’t been able to test in humidity yet (only got around to trying it this winter), but so far it has vastly exceeded my expectations. By which I mean it is pretty much the only product I’ve ever used that leaves my 2C-3A curls completely frizz-free.
I have curly hair too. I went to a new stylist recently, and she recommended putting lots of product in when it’s sopping wet and letting it air dry. Apparently the sopping wet part is important. And make sure you use a shit ton of conditioner. You don’t need to rinse it out all the way. She said that helps. Good…
Rinsing your hair in ice cold water helps constrict the hair shaft, making for less frizz and a lot more shine. It is also, as Tejon Face said, a miserable experience, like a version of the ice bucket challenge.
I second the Deva-Curl edorsement! Look online and see if there is a Devachan salon in your city. The cuts are expensive, but for curly hair, I think it’s worth it. I moved to New York, from Chicago years ago, thinking the weather would be the same, and it is SO much more humid here! I ended up with the constant halo…
Well there goes my only real idea, which would be to wash less. :(
Two words: KERATIN TREATMENT
I have had a ton of luck killing my constant frizz halo with Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Edge Control Smoother. You probably aren’t supposed to use as much as I do, but it really does obliterate the halo without looking like the rest of my head is overly full of product.
I lost a lot of hair a few years ago due to stress. Some of it has come back as really fine baby hairs that make me crazy and stick out. I tend to just glue them down with an extra-hold hairspray. I just spot treat where I need it, so I don’t look like I’m wearing a helmet. My hair is not particularly curly,…
I don’t know if this is something for curly hair or not, but I have thick frizzy wavy hair that I usually blow dry straight. A few months ago, my new (amazing!) stylist suggested I do a cellophane treatment as a way of doing non-permanent colour to add a little shine and accentuate my natural colour.
I have a permanent frizz halo at my hairline, which I think is genetic, because my cousins have it as well. Clear eyebrow gel is a lifesaver, and I always keep it in my purse for touch-ups. The mascara wand applicator really gets into the hair nicely.
This is pricey but it helps so much with frizzy damaged hair
How often do you wash your hair?
Have you tried spraying a leave in conditioner/shine spray thing on a big makeup brush and painting it on the frizz halo after it dries?
how are you drying it? i found my hair is less frizzy when i blow-dry with a diffuser. i use deva-curl conditioner and gel, and live in texas. no frizz.
