I'd say that up to 25% age difference is still pretty okay, after that it gets a bit weird. It's not about the specific ages of people, but how they equate to each other mentally - and some people just have different rates of 'aging'. That said, my GF and I are only half a year apart.

I was gonna say 'he could buy any generic USB-mini/micro charger' ... but then I found out the Thrive also has a somewhat proprietary port. (it's not proprietary but the plug is slightly harder to find)
What's even worse is that if you look very closely, one of the corners is protruding, not recessed. So it's not even recessed properly. The entire thing looks rather sloppily built for 400 hours.

I appreciate your vision towards music purchases (and frankly, I agree for about 90% with it), but you've got to keep in mind that this is YOUR choice for how you deal with it. You might be fine with piracy and not getting paid, but others might not be.
The LEDs itself doesn't produce much heat, but there's something of a minicomputer integrated into the fitting. That computer regulates powerflow (which includes making the bulb dimmable) and is why it has cooling fins.
